Saturday, August 3rd, we launched our 14 days of Prayer & Fasting. If you were not present or needed a reminder, this page includes important information, instructions, a few images, a downloadable bookmark & a link to the sermon.

Our passage for the next 2 weeks comes from James 4:7 & 8:

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

What is prayer & fasting or fasting prayer?

"Fasting prayer is a spiritual discipline that has been practiced by many Christians throughout history as a way of deepening their relationship with God. It involves abstaining from food, drink, or other pleasures for a set period of time, with the intention of seeking God's guidance and blessing."

  • What should I fast?
    Feel free to fast whatever you feel nudged to “give up.” This is a place of purposeful sacrifice, trust it.

  • How should I pray?
    We will be giving specific ways to pray below.

Statement from our pastors:

A prayer to pray when temptation arises:

Here are instructions for the next 2 weeks:

  • Choose what you are fasting

  • Fill out your bookmark (download here)

  • Starting at sun down Sunday, August 4th the fast begins

  • Start praying

    • At least once a day, set aside focused prayer time.

    • Anytime you feel tempted to give up or give in on the fast, pray.

  • & when you pray, please lift these 3 needs:

    • PERSONAL

    • SALVATION

    • THE CHURCH

  • We will “break fast” on Saturday, August 17th as we close our “Just Pray” series with testimonies!

The 3 prayers we suggest:

PERSONAL -

  • Fill in this blank, on your bookmark, with a heavy burden in your personal life.

  • Pray & fast over that personal need

  • Claim this passage as you pray:
    "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." 1 Peter 5:7

SALVATION -

  • Fill in this blank, on your bookmark, with the name of someone who needs Jesus.

  • Pray & fast over this person’s salvation

  • Remember this promise as you pray:
    ”For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

THE CHURCH

  • Read Ephesians 2:19-22

  • We are the church! The people!

  • & as a people we have a need

  • Currently, our greatest need is a “church home.”

  • Fill in this blank, on your bookmark, with our church’s greatest need.

  • I don’t know where God sees us next or how he will provide our financial needs to afford it, but I know this:

  • We want nothing less than His will for our next church home.

  • The Lord has given me this prophetic passage:
    "I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’” Psalm 122:1

  • Joy is coming!

  • Pray & fast for our next church home

Here are a few declarations to claim:

I declare that as you fast & pray for a personal need, that the chains of whatever generational patterns or relational handcuffs or medical battles or financial curses or mental confusions or professional dead ends that seem to always be present will be broken in Jesus name!

I declare that as you fast & pray for the soul of someone who needs Jesus, that the chains of doubt & cynicism or habits & hang ups or anger & fleshly desires in their heart soul & mind be broken in Jesus name

And I declare that, as we fast & pray, an army will rise up & whatever chains holding this church back will be broken & we will flourish for generations to come, in the mighty holy, powerful & matchless name of Jesus!
